Pet Urine Stains

Urine stains are some of the toughest pet stains to remove. The reason they are is because they crystallize in your carpet fibers, making it almost impossible to remove without the right solutions and equipment.

The trick to removing a pet urine stain (dog or cat) is with an “enzyme treatment.” Usually it is difficult to find the right chemical in your local hardware or grocery store, so you may need to find a commercial chemical supply store. These stores are typically very helpful and able to give you tips and cleaning advice. Also, sometimes they carry and rent equipment.

Now that you have your chemicals, you are going to need the proper equipment, which you should be able to pick up at your local equipment rental store. You will need a deep hot water extraction machine and wand. Sometimes the machines are all in one, which would not require a wand. Either way, the most important factors in choosing your equipment is making sure that the extractor has a heating element and that it has enough suction power to vacuum all of the remaining urine in your carpet.
